June 26, 2012 Old Rochester Farmers' Market

Week Four of the Old Rochester Farmers' Market is here!  The growing season moves along, which means with each week you will see more variety of produce available. Let's all show up between 3-7pm at ORR Junior High School to celebrate all things locally grown and produced.  See you at the market!
Allen Farms, Westport, MA Certified Organic
Potted herbs and more from Allen Farms
Allen Farms brings a variety of greenhouse greens, herbs, and potted herbs and tomato plants.  It isn't too late to get your herbs and tomatoes into the ground.  Stop on by to get yours.  This weeks greens include pea greens, a lettuce mix, and Red Russian kale.  Popular last week were Deb's hanging lettuce planters.  You may have noticed one on your neighbor's patio...
Cervelli Farm, Rochester, MA Conventional
Cervelli's famous strawberries
Available this week from Cervelli's will be summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach, and heads of lettuce.  It is officially the end of strawberry season.  Scott will have the last of the strawberries available at the market.  If you want to still have some in the months to come, buy some extra quarts, place the berries on a cookie sheet and freeze them.  After freezing them, transfer the strawberries to the storage container of your choice and you will have them when they are no longer available.
Engelnook Farm, Rochester, MA Pesticide-Free
Eggs, Narragansett Creamery Cheeses, and meats available for order can all be found at the Engelnook tent.  Stop by for some kale for your salads or some beets for pickling or roasting up for dinner.
J.H. Beaulieu, Fairhaven, MA Hormone-Free
Humanely raised, hormone free meats are available from Beaulieu Farm.  Stop in to see what cuts are available this week.
