July 10, 2012 Week Six, Old Rochester Farmers' Market

Week Six of the Old Rochester Farmers' Market is here!  What an amazing market week 5 was--let's keep the momentum going.  This week brings a much larger variety of produce, as Skinny Dip Farm from Westport will be joining us.  Their produce is top quality.  Also joining us this week is So Many Stitches, with handmade children's clothing.  Whimsical and well-made, Deb's outfits are perfect summer wear.

Macho and Yanni will join us this week.
Highlights of this week's market will be fresh from the field Cervelli corn, salad greens and accompaniments, as well as our favorite llamas Macho and Yanni.

Let's all show up between 3-7pm at ORR Junior High School to celebrate all things locally grown and produced.  See you at the market.

Farms
Allen Farms, Westport, MA Certified Organic
Allen Farms brings a variety of greenhouse greens, herbs, fresh cut lavender and potted herbs.  This week's greens include pea greens and a lettuce mix.  Deb will have more of the fun and decorative cut and grow lettuce hanging pots.  These hanging pots have been wildly popular.  They are perfect as some color for the patio, yet functional, too.

Cervelli Farm, Rochester, MA Conventional
Everyone loves fresh from the field Cervelli corn.  Gathered on Tuesday mornings, this corn is amazingly delicious.  If you don't want to be missing Cervelli's corn when it is out of season, buy a couple extra ears, cut off the kernels, and freeze it for winter use.  This week, Scott will also have available summer squash, zucchini, butta squash, cucumbers, spinach, and heads of lettuce.

Engelnook Farm, Rochester, MA Pesticide-Free
Eggs, Narragansett Creamery Cheeses, and meats available for order can all be found at the Engelnook tent.  Stop by for some kale and swiss chard for your salads or some beets for pickling or roasting up for dinner.   This week you will find Al's Backwood Berrie Co's jams, jellies and honey at the market with Engelnook Farm.

J.H. Beaulieu, Fairhaven, MA Hormone-Free
Humanely raised, hormone free meats are available from Beaulieu Farm.  Each week, Joe drives his trailer to the market with a variety of beef and pork cuts.  Stop on in to find out which cuts are available this week.

Skinny Dip Farm, Westport, MA Certified Organic
New this week: Skinny Dip Farm
Skinny Dip Farm is joining us for their first week.  Ben and Hannah grow a wide variety of produce, herbs, and flowers.  This week they will delight market goers with a selection of lettuce, onions (yay! the onions are in), garlic, squashes, cucumbers, fresh cut herbs, and flowers.
