With the holiday weekend approaching, this Tuesday is the perfect time to stock up on all your holiday shopping needs.  Meats, cheeses, lovely vegetables, fruits, breads, and desserts the Old Rochester Farmers' Market has most of the items on your shopping list.  Great grilling vegetables, stunning meat cuts, and wonderful cheeses and yogurts for all those main dishes and sides you are looking forward to making for your holiday festivities.

Allen Farm's Colorful Squashes
Allen Farms, Westport, MA Certified Organic
Allen Farms brings a variety of greenhouse greens, herbs, fresh cut lavender and potted herbs.  Zucchini, summer squash, zephyr summer squash and mild spice peppers will also be at the market with Deb this week.  Looking for something new to grill?  The mild spice peppers are wonderful for kabobs or grilled whole for some lovely flare to your BBQ meal.  The zephyr summer squash also add some lovely color to a grilled vegetable medley.  Last week, Deb brought along this recipe, which made some super yummy lunches this week:

"Pizza"
4 c. grated zucchini
2 eggs
1/2 c. mozzarella cheese
Mix together and put into a casserole dish, bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until set.
Top with tomato sauce and any pizza toppings you like
Bake another 15-20 minutes at 400.

We have made it twice now with fabulous results. We did not have any mozzarella on hand, but used Narragansett Creamery's Queso Blanco--delicious.
