September 18, 2012 Old Rochester Farmers' Market

While we should be open until 7pm, as most of you know there is a curfew in the Town of Mattapoisett.  So, we will be closing up shop at 6pm today.  So come along between 3 and 6pm to stock up on the most amazing and delicious local foods.  There will be a wide variety to choose from this week--both summer crops and fall crops are available, so it makes for fun and colorful shopping. Especially as the Pumpkins are here!  Pick up a few to celebrate the fact that this Saturday is the First Day of Autumn.

Also joining us this week is our favorite purveyor of made in the US olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Omega Olive Oil from Kingston.  Wonderful local breads and goodies, delectable jams to spread on the breads, and sweet local honey, too.

Value Added Foods

Al's Backwood's Berrie Co., Plymouth, MA
Each week it is a new surprise over at Al's tent.  Al delights in creating new and visually appealing jams and jellies.  The apple pie, blueberry rhubarb and jalepeno pepper have been some of the favorites this season.  Do not be fooled into thinking these jams are only for toast--we've used them for fish, fruit spreads for pancakes or french toast, and the classic pb&j.  Each week Al also has raw, local honey, too.

Omega Olive Oil, Kingston, MA
This olive oil is produced from California olives, which means it is a high quality olive oil from right here in the states--how lucky for us.  Extra-virgin, organic olive oil is now available at the market!

Additional Necessities
